ARBRE, the Association of Resources for Biophysical Research in Europe, is the newest and first transnational EBSA member society, whose admission was voted for during the July 2025 General Assembly in Rome.
It is a technology and method-oriented society that aims to bring together a vibrant pan-European community of scientists active or interested in the field of molecular biophysics: see https://www.arbre-biophysics.eu/about-us/
Its positioning is very complementary to that of the national biophysical societies that constitute the core of EBSA.
ARBRE will closely interact with them at several levels, starting by the co-organization of a “breakthrough methods in biophysics” scientific session and the sponsoring of the 1st Young ESAB satellite, during the ESAB2026 congress (Montpellier, June 16-19 2026), jointly organized by the French, Portuguese and Spanish biophysical societies: https://esab2026.cbs.cnrs.fr/
In parallel, ARBRE will also be the lead organizer of a variety of events, such as training schools (notably on Protein Quality Control and Biomolecular Interaction characterization) and meetings, the first of which will take place in Vienna on November 12-13 2026.
