EBSA provides bursaries for young biophysicists for attendance at an EBSA-sponsored school, course or scientific meeting. EBSA also provides opportunities for exchange of young biophysicists between laboratories within the EU area. 

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) promotes scientific research at Dutch universities and institutes through nearly 120 different research programmes and grants. Some of these programs are open to scientists from other countries. For example, talented young scientists can apply for a prestigeous VENI grant (recently obtained PhD) or a VIDI grant (max. 8 years after obtaining PhD) to perform research in the Netherlands.
