DESCRIPTION:Italy. \nThe “A. Corbella” International School on Organic Synthesis (ISOS) has a long tradition\, which dates back to 1976. Named after its cofounder Attilio Corbella\, who passed away prematurely in 1978\, the School is sponsored by the Organic Chemistry Division of Società Chimica Italiana (SCI) and organized under the direction of the Department of Chemistry of the Università degli Studi di Milano. \nThe School is mainly directed to Ph.D. students and young researchers coming both from University and Industry. DESCRIPTION:Vaud (fr)\, Switzerland. \nThe Single Molecule Approaches to Biology GRS is a forum for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers to present cutting-edge\, unpublished work and emerging methods in single-molecule science. The seminar emphasizes active discussion\, mentorship\, and peer-to-peer exchange\, fostering collaboration in an open and inclusive environment. It covers the full spectrum of single-molecule biophysics\, highlighting recent advances and their applications to biology and related fields. \nThe seminar will feature approximately 10 oral presentations and two poster sessions\, and all attendees are expected to actively contribute by presenting either a talk or a poster. An abstract is required for all applications. Speakers will be selected from abstracts submitted by March 22\, 2026; applicants not selected for talks\, as well as those applying after the deadline\, will present posters.

The Italian Society of Pure and Applied Biophysics (SIBPA) is privileged to organise this meaningful conference under the auspices of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). Specifically\, the Commission on Biological Physics (C6)\, established by IUPAP in 1990\, aims to promote the exchange of information and views among the members of the international scientific community in the general field of Biological Physics. \nSince the inaugural meeting at Szeged\, Hungary in 1993\, the International Conference on Biological Physics has been held in celebrated places around the world; including Munich (1995)\, Santa Fe\, New Mexico (1998)\, Kyoto (2001)\, Gothenburg (2004)\, Montevideo (2007)\, San Diego (2011)\, Beijing (2014)\, Rio de Janeiro (2017)\, Madrid (2019) and Seoul (2023). DESCRIPTION:Online. \nThis yEBSA Scientific seminar will feature a talk by Prof. Antonio José da Costa Filho. \nProf. Antonio José da Costa Filho is a full Professor in the Department of Physics at the Ribeirão Preto School of Philosophy\, Sciences and Letters of the Universidade de São Paulo (USP)\, where he works at the interface of Physics\, Molecular Biophysics\, and Health Sciences. He received his B.Sc. in Physics from the São Carlos Institute of Physics (USP) (1994)\, and completed his M.Sc. (1997) and Ph.D. (2001) at the same institution\, including a doctoral research period at Cornell University (1998-2001). His academic training established a scientific trajectory focused on the application of advanced physicochemical tools to understand molecular mechanisms in biological systems. He leads the Molecular Biophysics Laboratory\, with research activities centered on protein-membrane interactions\, protein conformational dynamics\, and the organization of biological membranes. \nHis group has contributed to elucidating the physicochemical basis of processes such as protein secretion under cellular stress\, the formation of biomolecular condensates\, and their biotechnological applications\, as well as the molecular mechanisms of drug action. He currently serves as Director of the University of São Paulo Innovation Center in Ribeirão Preto (INOVA USP) and as President of the Brazilian Biophysical Society (2016-2021; 2024-present)\, playing a strategic role in the development of Biophysics in Brazil. He was an Affiliated Member of The World Academy of Sciences (2011-2015) and of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (2011-2015). \nThe seminar will take place on Tuesday 30th of June 2026.
