Travel to Dresden by plane 

Dresden airport is located in the north of dresden, approximately 9 km from the city center. It offers a wide range of connetions to important national and international airports - either directly or by connectiong flights. Please consult the airport's webpage for further information on destinations and timetables.

To travel from the airport to the city centre, you can use the train line S2. The train station can be found in the basement of the airport. Trains leave every half an hour and take 20 min to arrive at Dresden Main Station. The closest station to the conference venue is "Dresden Mitte" (10-15 min / 800 m from the International Conference Center).

Tickets can be obtained at the ticket machine at the station and from the airport information desk on the Arrivals level in the terminal. A single ticket in the Dresden fare zone costs € 2,20 (valid on S-Bahn, tram and bus).

A taxi from the airport to the city centre takes between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the traffic, and costs between 16 and 20 Euro. Taxi stands can be found directly in front of the terminal exits.

Travel to Dresden by train 

Dresden is an important railway junction within the ICE and EC/IC networks of the German Railways (DB). Several services run daily to all major German cities. All EC/IC/ICE trains stop at the central railway station "Dresden Hauptbahnhof". Please consult the webpage of the DB for detailed information on prices and connections.

Travel to Dresden by coach 

From Dresden central station several bus operators provide fast, inexpensive and direct services from and to all mayor German cities, some of them stopping directly at important airport terminals (e.g. Berlin).  Furthermore,  international connections are available.

The bus terminal "Bayrische Straße" at Dresden central station is located directly at the southern exit of the central station.

Below you can see a selection of operators offering bus links from and to Dresden. Please note that this is not an extensive list and that some of the pages are only available in German.

Travel to Dresden by car 

Dresden is easily accessible within the German motorway network. The A4 approaches the city from the West (Cologne-Erfurt-Chemnitz) and continues to the east (Görlitz-Poland). The A13 connects Dresden with the North (Rostock-Berlin) and the A17 links the Saxon capital with the Czech capital Prague.
